
The Assistant Solar Project Manager will be working for the Los Angeles office of global solar company. We specialize in the design, engineering and installation of residential, commercial and industrial-scale photovoltaic (PV) electric systems and components.

Reports to: Senior Project Manager
Job Objective:
The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of Commercial and Utility Scale grid-tied solar PV electric systems. The position will coordinate closely with our clients and internal staff on solar projects of 100kW and upwards.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Identify, prioritize, schedule project/design initiatives; drive execution of activities.
- Provide project support in the areas of project budgets, schedules, contracts, document control, reporting and all aspects relating to successful implementation of project.
- Coordinate and validate required technical documents (electrical, structural, site plan drawings and related documents).
- Coordinate bill of materials development and supplier recommendations.
- Provide technical input and establish procedures in development of site permitting and interconnection requirements.
- Secure permits and approvals from local permitting authorities.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors or vendors on projects.
- Schedule subcontractor work schedules and construction schedule milestones.
- Identify, evaluate, and direct the technical activities of project specific sub-contractors and consultants.
- Ensure projects are built in compliance with plans, specifications, owner’s requirements, and best construction practices.
- Approve and reconcile payments to subcontractors and vendors.
- Supervise site superintendents and laborers.
- Responsible for oversight of project quality assurance.
- Evaluate project results and performance to implement internal continuous improvement measures.
- Prepare reports and timely written communication on design/project activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
At least 3 years hands on experience in construction. 1-2 years of project management experience, including project design, staff management, budget management, client relationships, quality assurance. Self sufficient office skills: proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project and Windows operating systems.
