Government Solar Power Systems

Solar energy has emerged as major component in the energy portfolio of federal, state and local government agencies.  When the Santa Monica Public Library approached us to design their solar array, we custom engineered and installed a roof-mount system that helped the Library attain LEED-Gold status. Another government client, Glendale Community College, asked us to help them reduce their energy costs and at the same time reduce their carbon footprint.  We were able to engineer and install a high-performing system that saves the college money while communicating a strong message of environmental stewardship to their students, faculty, and the world.

For over ten years we’ve worked closely to understand and address the energy needs of our municipal and government clients. This local knowledge and expertise, combined with our global technology network, allows us to provide government clients with a high-efficiency solar system designed to their specific needs.

Financial Considerations for Municipal Solar Power

Why Solar is Ideal for Government:

  • Save taxpayer money by reducing electric costs
  • Reduce carbon footprint
  • Inspire citizens, businesses to adopt solar
  • Take a proactive approach to rising electric costs
  • Dramatically cut overhead costs
  • Low Maintenance Costs and Long-term Reliability

Financial Considerations for Government Agencies

Because government organizations do not have tax liability, it is almost always best for public entities to use a financial tool to monetize the value of the federal investment tax credit and depreciation benefits. This may reduce the cost of the solar installation by over 50%.  Martifer Solar has worked with many government agencies to ensure access to the most cost effective solutions, including municipalities throughout California, Colorado and Minnesota.
